Do you have a keen interest in Street Photography? Would you like to learn new skills with like-minded individuals? 

Sky Arts Master of Photography Finalist Wayne Crichlow, Commercial Photographer Rob Irving and Award Winning Photographer Alecsandra Raluca Dragoi are excited to announce two dates for Soul Capture Collectives one day workshops; 30th March and 4th May 2019. Located in the creative and cosmopolitan area of East London, the event will be held at Autograph's purpose built Arts Centre in Shoreditch.

About the workshop

During this workshop participants can improve their technique, gain confidence and receive tips and advice on all aspects of street photography in a friendly and informal environment. Aimed at intermediate level, you will learn more about storytelling, continuity, light and composition and the importance of connecting with the subject and the environment. The workshop will also cover the psychological and theoretical aspects of street photography.

How to apply

*EarlyBird discount: Applications received by 10th February eligible for EarlyBird discounted price of £199.

The price for the day will be £249. Spaces will be limited so to be able to be considered for a place you will need to send either five separate images or a series of five images that tell a story through street photography. All images should be no larger than 6Mb and should be sent to events@soulcapturecreatives.com by 23:59 20th February 2019. Please provide a short bio about you and summarise the story behind the images that you have submitted.  You are also required to indicate your preferred workshop date.

What happens next?

The successful applicants will be notified by 28th February 2019. Your images used for your application will be displayed in your very own gallery on the Soul Capture Creatives Website and across social media.

WHO WILL I BE TAUGHT BY?

About Wayne Crichlow

Wayne is an up and coming amateur photographer.  Born in London’s East end his passion for street photography grew with a modest bridge camera.  Wayne’s unique style of street photography takes inspiration from icons such as Vivian Maier, Henri CartierBresson, Sebastião Salgado, Martin Parr, Mary Ellen Mark, Mark Asnin and Zack Arias.   His visual storytelling provides an honest, yet thought-provoking insight to the world’s dynamic surroundings and the complex struggles of daily life.

Wayne’s work has received an accolade from the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards, where in 2017 he received ‘Commendation’ in the category ‘Street Photography’.  He was most recently a finalist on Sky Arts, Master of Photography Season Three, where he was selected to be one of ten contestants from thousands across Europe.

About Robert Irving

Rob obtained his first camera, a Zenit E, at the age of thirteen which subsequently led to a lifetime love of shooting.  Educated at Queen Mary's, University of London he holds a BA (Hons) in Cultural Geography with Photographic Representation.

In addition to his academic qualifications, he offers over 20 years commercial photography experience and has tutored photography students at HND level.  Rob has a love of travel and a passion for people.

Rob take inspiration from photographers Gregory Crewsdon, for the extreme lengths he goes to within a single image; and Cartier Bresson, for his illustration of the importance of art within the image. To find out more about Rob's work click here.

About Alecsandra Raluca Dragoi

Alecsandra is an accomplished and renowned photographer and photography teacher based in London. Currently freelancer for the Guardian, National Geographic Traveller UK, National Geographic Food and BAFTA she teaches at the British Academy of Photography.

A creative and result-oriented photographer she has a highly acclaimed reputation for producing superior, high-quality imagery recognised by her numerous awards such as Sony Awards, Youth Category 2013, Getty Images and SCA Academy Photography Competition 2014 and National Geographic Traveller 2015. ABOUT THE VENUE
